Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or Tapping, was founded in the mid 1990’s. It’s a simple, empowering, and self-applied technique with roots in acupressure and cognitive-behavior therapy.
Reframe Stressful Events
Studies show that Tapping on specific acupressure points sends relaxing signals to the amygdala, the area of the brain that processes fear. As the nervous system begins to shift gears and relax, we can reframe stressful events thereby diminishing physical/emotional intensities around those events. Tappers are able to repattern conditioned responses to trauma. Our bodies are allowed to self-correct and begin healing when we clear these chronic and acute layers of stress.
Reduce the Effects of Stress
During an EFT session, stress hormones lower, healing chemicals are released, and energetic anatomy becomes more balanced and free-flowing. By reducing effects of stress on the mind and body immune function improves, pain diminishes, inflammation reduces, digestion balances, cognitive function heightens, and mood improves.
